Hull FC 27-26 Wakefield Trinity

Marc Sneyd’s 50-metre drop goal with 90 seconds remaining secured Hull FC’s dramatic 27-26 win over Wakefield Trinity at the KCOM Stadium.

The half-back's late heroics were all that could separate the two sides after four tries apiece and five goals each for Sneyd and Wakefield counterpart James Batchelor.

The hosts raced into an 8-0 lead when Jordan Adbull picked up a loose ball to cross after Sneyd opened the scoring with an early penalty. However, Trinity led 18-8 at the break following a brace from Bill Tupou and a Mason Caton-Brown try.

Albert Kelly and Fetuli Talanoa crossed the whitewash to nudge Hull into a two-point advantage, only for Batchelor to level with a penalty before Talanoa dotted down his 11th try of the season to move the Black and Whites 26-20 ahead.

But Wakefield replied once again through Caton-Brown with eight minutes remaining before Sneyd slotted over the decisive drop-goal to earn Hull their third win in a row and condemn Wakefield to their fourth successive defeat.
