Wins for the top four as Bradford are relegated to League 1

Toulouse Olympique XIII got off to a strong start in the Super 8s with a 26-10 victory over Bradford Bulls.

Rhys Curran got Toulouse off to the perfect start in the third minute when he touched down for the first try of the game.

Toulouse got over for their second in the 20th minute through Gavin Marguerite, but Bradford struck back through Iliess Macani wih 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

Curran scored his second of the game to give Toulouse a 14-point advantage, but Ross Peltier replied on the stroke of half-time to earn the Bulls a lifeline. Toulouse went in at the break with an 18-10 lead.

Toulouse scored the only two tries of the second half, as Gavin Marguerite and Tony Maurel flew over to confirm the win for Toulouse.

The result means Toulouse lead by eight points in the Championship Shield Super 8s and Bradford Bulls are relegated to League 1.

Batley Bulldogs kept the pressure on Toulouse with a convincing 62-10 victory over Swinton Lions.

Swinton started the better of the two teams as Shaun Robinson went over to give the Lions an early lead.

Batley ensured the lead was short lived as Alex Bretherton replied five minutes later. Wayne Reittie scored the Dogs second try inside first 10 minutes to give Batley a one-score lead.

Swinton levelled the scores briefly as Ben Austin scored their second try of the game, but Batley stepped it up a gear and dominated for the rest of the game.

The Bulldogs then ran in 10 unanswered tries to cement their dominance on the game and confirm the win, leaving them eight points off the top with six games to play.

Sheffield Eagles started their Super 8s campaign with a convincing victory over relegation battline Oldham.

The Eagles dominated from the off and held a convincing 22-0 lead after 25 minutes. Oldham pulled back a couple of their own tries to make the score 22-10 at half time, but Sheffield continued the onslaught in the second 40.

Sheffield registered six more tries to Oldham’s one after the break, running out 56-16 winners.

Oldham remain in the relegation zone, one point off safety. Sheffield remain in third, just two points off Batley.

Dewsbury kicked off their Super 8s campaign with a crucial 56-8 win over Rochdale Hornets.

The Rams controlled the game from the outset, scoring six first half tries to gain a commanding 28-4 lead at half time.

Dewsbury continued to apply pressure in the second half, with James Glover completing his hat-trick and Gareth Potts going in for his fourth try.

The victory gives Dewsbury a three-point advantage over Rochdale in the table and increases the gap between them and the relegation zone to seven points.
